With impeccable timing, Atlanta-based Rhen's Nest Toy Shop has opened a second location in advance of the holiday shopping season.

Rhen's Nest, the Glenwood Park shop known for carrying independent toy manufacturers and supporting other small businesses, opened in Ponce City Market in late October.

The business opened in 2015 after owner Christina Bonaccorse couldn't find a local toy store with "quality, responsible toys that fed her daughter's creativity and imagination," according to a press release. Inventory includes an impressive collection of non-tech games for children two and up.

The business — not to be confused with West End house museum Wren's Nest — was named after Bonaccorse's daughter. The new 1,076-square-foot store is situated on Ponce City Market's second floor.

An “interactive retail experience” allows children to play with (and adults to purchase) items such as a train track, a toy chest, buildable cars and a 3-foot rocket ship dollhouse. One-hour art classes, designed for ages four and up, will be available in-store for $15 per person later this fall.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday.
