Gwinnett's getting a brand new 'Oktoberfest' event this fall

Gird your gullets, Gwinnett — one local city will host a brand new Oktoberfest event this fall.

The city of Lawrenceville and popular beer-and-burger joint, The Local Republic, made the announcement on Facebook on Thursday. The festivities — dubbed "Prost on Perry St." — will be held from noon to 6 p.m. on Oct. 1.

Few other details were released, but Lawrenceville promised "a variety of games, live music and lots of beer." The event is also sponsored by McCray's Tavern and Spatenbrau, a Belgian brewery.
