Two Fulton County library branches are scheduled to close next month for renovations.

The East Point library will be closed beginning June 5. The Fairburn library will close June 13.

The closures mark the beginning of a two-year plan that will redesign and modernize 23 of Fulton County's 34 libraries. The projects are each expected to take between six and nine months.

While the East Point library is closed, the two nearest Atlanta-Fulton public libraries are the Southeast Atlanta library at 1463 Pryor Road in Atlanta and the Wolf Creek library at 3100 Enon Road in Atlanta.

While Fairburn is closed, the two closest libraries are the South Fulton library at 4055 Flat Shoals Road in Union City and the Palmetto library at 9111 Cascade Palmetto Highway in Palmetto.
