UPDATE: Several Cobb County roads have been closed due to flooding from heavy rains Friday.

Columns Drive in East Cobb and Woodland Brook in Vinings were among those temporarily shut down.

Cobb officials urged caution after a woman driving a van was stranded by high water and had to be rescued on Woodland Brook near Brandy Station.

They said even though the rain is moving out, some creeks and streams are continuing to rise.

Heavy rains downed two trees in Cobb Thursday night.

County spokesman Ross Cavitt said both trees had been cleared and county crews were responding to flooded streets near the Chattahoochee River and elsewhere.

County officials said residents should report any problems to 911 and not to try and drive on a road if it is covered in water.
