Stockbridge Mayor Pro Tem Mark Alarcon is expected to be name acting mayor this afternoon during an emergency meeting. Alarcon’s appointment follows the removal of former Mayor Lee Stuart earlier this week and is the first step in city officials’ efforts to restore stability to the fractured government. Also during the 3:30 meeting, a new mayor pro tem is expected to be named and someone will be appointed to fill Alarcon’s unexpired council post. Prior to that meeting, the council will announce the acquisition and disposal of property at a special-called meeting at 3 p.m. Both meetings will be at City Hall, 4640 N. Henry Blvd in Stockbridge. Information: call the city clerk at 678 833-3303.
