Heavy rains in metro Atlanta have closed some Fulton County roads and trails.

In Roswell, Azalea Drive from Ga. 9 to Willeo Road is closed, as is Willeo Road from Azalea Road to Timber Ridge Road. Those closures also mean the only way to access the Avia Riverside apartments is via the entrance on Ga. 9, the city said.

The parking lot for Don White Park under the Ga. 400 bridge is also flooded.

In Alpharetta, the Big Creek Greenway is closed. It lies in a floodplain, a city spokesman said, so that’s often the case during inclement weather.

And a spokesperson for Sandy Springs said Windsor Meadows Park — which replaced three homes that were destroyed by the 2009 flood — is currently flooded. The park, along Nancy Creek, is at the corner of Windsor Parkway and Northland Drive.

Also closed are Marsh Creek Park — its facilities are under water — and the dog park and fishing pier at Morgan Falls Park. There is high water below the dam.

Milton and Johns Creek do not have any closures due to rain, representatives of those cities said.

A Roswell alert system warned residents a flood warning would be in place through the weekend.
