A recount in the Atlanta City Council race to replace Ivory Lee Young, Jr. will take place Tuesday afternoon.

Greg Clay, the third-place vote-getter in the special election, requested the recount after he finished three votes behind the second-place finisher, Antonio Brown. The person who has the most votes after the recount will face off against Byron Amos in a runoff.

There were nine candidates in the race to replace Young, who died in November. Clay is able to request the recount, which will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, because he finished within 1 percent of Brown’s total.
