Merging colleges suggest new names
The new name for a merged Augusta State and Georgia Health Sciences universities could be University of Augusta. Or Augusta University.
Don't like those? What about one of these: Bartram University, Georgia National University, Georgia Regents University or George Walton University?
Over the next couple of weeks a group working on consolidating the two colleges will narrow the suggestions to three finalists.
The State Board of Regents will vote on the name in August. The board is not bound by the recommendations.
