Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed will discuss the “State of Black America” during a conference this weekend in Texas.

Reed will take part in a panel at 2:45 p.m. EST Saturday during the three-day Texas Tribune Festival in Austin.

The event, an annual confab for people passionate about issues facing the Lone Star state, brings together public officials to explore state and national issues.

Reed will be joined on the panel by U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas), San Antonio Mayor Ivy Taylor and Allen West, a former Congressman from Florida.

The event will be streamed live here.
