House Democrats unveiled three proposals Tuesday designed to promote their education agenda in the current session.

The Parent Protection Act would allow parents to take time off from work to attend medical appointments or school conferences with their children. The End Cyber Bullying Act proposes to close a loophole from last year’s legislation to cover bullying by cell phone, social networking sites or other electronic means.

A final proposal would repeal a $50 million tax credit for scholarships to private schools.

Democrats have hosted more than 40 town hall meetings across the state to discuss these issues and others on their agenda as the minority party.

The party's proposals have yet to be written into bills. That work is expected in the next week.
