Former Cobb Chairman Tim Lee has accepted a position in north Georgia as the director of economic development for the Habersham Partnership for Growth/Economic Development Council, the Marietta Daily Journal confirmed over the weekend.

Lee was defeated by Chairman Mike Boyce in a Republican primary runoff over the summer in what was widely seen as a rejection of Lee’s handling of the deal to bring the Atlanta Braves to Cobb.

The news was first reported by the Northeast Georgian. Lee could not be reached for comment Monday.

The MDJ reported that Lee’s responsibilities will include bringing jobs to the community by assisting existing businesses and recruiting new ones.
