The state ethics commission has named a top official of the state Public Defenders Standards Council and a former city official as finalists to be the agency's next executive director.
Commissioners will choose between Holly LaBerge and Jerry Presley to take the place of Stacey Kalberman, who agreed to resign under pressure but is staying on until her replacement is named. The commission must wait two weeks to make its choice.
LaBerge is the director of government relations for the public defenders council and is a former House budget analyst. Presley Owns his own public policy consulting firm and served in a variety of positions for several local governments.
