Drake wins Decatur commission seat

March 20, 2013

Scott Drake has defeated Greg Coleson to earn a seat on the Decatur city commission.

Late Tuesday, less than 15 votes separated the candidates out of more than 1,000 votes cast. But after provisional ballots were counted, Drake’s narrow lead stood.

Drake will fill William Floyd’s unexpired term.

Floyd, who was elected mayor by his fellow commission members, resigned his seat in December.
