Traffic drives through the construction of the new interchange at Ga. 400 and I-85. The road was built with no direct access from Ga. 400 south to I-85 north or from I-85 south to Ga. 400 north. Motorists were required to exit the highways and re-enter at Lenox Road and Sidney Marcus Boulevard.

When the interchange project is completed in January, motorists will be able to go directly from Ga. 400 southbound to I-85 northbound and from I-85 southbound to Ga. 400 northbound.

Cars enter Ga. 400 northbound at Sidney Marcus Boulevard. Traffic in the area has been a mess for years because motorists going from I-85 south to Ga. 400 north had to exit the interstate and enter Ga. 400 at Sidney Marcus. The new intersection should relieve that bottleneck.

Cars travel under the Northridge Road bridge on Ga. 400 last week. The DOT is making improvements to the bridge in a $9.6 million project that is expected to be finished in September 2015, According to the DOT, the project will provide roadway improvements to the existing bridge, including restriping of the lanes, widening the adjacent approach roads, traffic signal improvements and pedestrian amenities.
