Being able to stroll through your neighborhood, whether to a park or a restaurant, is a drawing point for many people. Walking can be good for your health and the health of the planet, too.

That’s why we wanted to know which neighborhood readers think is the most walkable in the metro Atlanta area. We started with seven areas, but readers quickly responded that we needed to add three more. So we did.

One of those write-in nominees walked away with the title.

In third place was Inman Park. Inman Park is Atlanta's first planned residential suburb and first electric trolley neighborhood, according to its homeowner's association.

The top two neighborhoods were separated by fewer than 20 votes.

In second place was Midtown, home to the High Museum of Art, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the Center for Puppetry Arts, in addition to Piedmont Park and the Atlanta Botanical Garden. In Midtown, “people, business and culture converge to create a live-work-play community with a personality all its own,

The winner of the 2020 most walkable neighborhood poll is write-in candidate Vinings. Vinings is in Cobb County and is one of the best places to live in Georgia according to Niche.com. Living in Vinings offers residents an urban feel.
