According to  GeekWire, SwanLuv CEO Scott Avy says that while he hopes no couples get divorced, statistics suggest otherwise. He's confident that enough couples who receive the loan will eventually break up and make the company profitable over time.

The company plans on making marriage counseling available to the chosen couples.

Editor's note: In Feb. 2016, the company announced it was abandoning the loan concept and switching to a crowdfunding platform.
