Ziggy, a 2-year-old spayed Yorkshire terrier, is a shy, timid dog who needs a quiet, adult-only home. Toy breeds can be more difficult to housebreak than larger breeds, so Ziggy will need proper confinement and a patient owner using positive reinforcement to help her. Ziggy will do best in a home where the humans will give her positive, consistent feedback and help her understand what is expected of her. She doesn’t need coddling, she needs confidence-building! Yorkies don’t usually require a lot of exercise, so they can be good for smaller living spaces, but they can be noisy if untrained. We don’t know how Ziggy feels about other dogs, but seeing as she’s small and shy, she would probably prefer housemates who also are small. If you have dogs currently, bring them to meet her. Yorkies generally need daily walks and frequent grooming by a professional. Ziggy just had her teeth cleaned and the vet noticed some minor knee issues which may cause her to limp occasionally. Ziggy is up-to-date on her vaccinations (except for rabies) and has been microchipped and dewormed. She will be available at 2 p.m. today at the Atlanta Humane Society, 981 Howell Mill Road N.W. Sealed bids will be accepted starting at 10 a.m. if more than one party is interested. Please note that the highest bidder must meet adoption qualifications.
