Kevin, a 5-year-old neutered treeing Walker coonhound mix, is a handsome, mature dog who has had a bit of trouble adjusting to shelter life. He’s as sweet as can be, but he’s very reserved and reluctant to leave the security of his kennel run. We think that Kevin would do best in home with a family who is committed to giving him exercise through long walks and a fenced-in yard. All dogs thrive on structure and leadership, and Kevin is no exception. The Atlanta Humane Society recommends crate training and obedience training to help with this. Obedience training helps dogs understand what is expected, which reduces stress on everyone. Kevin may or may not be housetrained, so it’s always best to prepare for a refresher course. If you are looking for an adult dog who can make your family complete, come take a look at this boy. Research the breed, and bring all children and any existing dogs to meet Kevin. Kevin is current on his vaccinations at this time. He has been microchipped and dewormed. He will be available at 11 a.m. today at the Atlanta Humane Society Mansell Campus, 1565 Mansell Road, Alpharetta, GA 30009. Look at all our available pets at www.atlantahumane.org.
