Kylie Myers' battle with Ewing's sarcoma inspired metro Atlanta, as Smiley for Kylie became a rallying cry against childhood cancer.

On April 9, the two-year anniversary of the day Kylie received her diagnosis, her father, Mark Myers, published a book about the journey on Amazon.com.

The book, "Missing Kylie: A Father's Search for Meaning in Tragedy," is a compilation of Myers' writings documenting the Gwinnett County family's journey through treatments to the first anniversary of Kylie's death in February 2015 at age 12.

"Like everything I write, I have tried to mix laughter together with the heartache of cancer treatment and losing a child. You'll smile some, cry more – and most importantly, I believe you will feel something while reading it," Myers wrote on his blog. "Although it is organized chronologically, it is less a history of treatment and more a tango with God as I try to maintain my faith through the hardest two years any parent could imagine."

The book contains many of the blogs Myers posted in the past two years, as well as some writings that have never been published, including a letter Kylie wrote to a friend just before she died.

Myers said he published the book to share Kylie's story and to share his "messy faith to hurting people in a genuine and authentic manner." All proceeds from the sale of the book will go toward fighting childhood cancer, he noted.

One online review calls the book "powerful, inspiring — for anyone who has, is or will have their faith challenged by the troubles in this broken world."

"Missing Kylie" is available in paperback or on Kindle at Amazon.com.
