Homeowners can make curb appeal even more personal with monogrammed decor in yards and gardens, along driveways and walkways, and on porches and front stoops.
Some monogrammed products are made by companies in the Southeast, while others are sold by national retailers and online stores. These five products could make monogramming a must-do in your outdoor space.
Wreaths: One or more initials can stand on their own as a personalized door wreath or when they are placed within designs like a circle, quatrefoil or even the shape of a state. D-Zines and Letters, based in Columbiana, Alabama, creates custom monograms in five styles, such as script or block letters, and 13 color choices, including pink, turquoise and white. Single-initial door hangers typically range from $42-$50, and three-initial custom monograms are generally between $59.50-$79.50, said Dana Ray, owner of D-Zines and Letters (dzinesandletters.com). Her products are available in Atlanta area stores including Swoozie's and Kinnucan's. Wreath hangers also can be personalized. Pottery Barn's Ella Adjustable Door Wreath Hanger, made of hammered metal, features a rectangular plate for a monogram or name ($39, plus $9 for monogramming, potterybarn.com).
Mailboxes: Magnetic mailbox wraps, called MailWraps, by Studio M feature an initial surrounded by designs, such as a chevron pattern, fall foliage, polka dots, snowmen and flip flops ($12.95, amazon.com). The magnetic covers fit standard mailboxes (6.5 inches wide, 19 inches long).
Doormats: Atlanta interior designer Suzanne Kasler's collection for Ballard Designs includes a monogrammed coir doormat with a Greek key motif border ($29-$89, ballarddesigns.com). An initial is framed by a scroll design in the Imperial Monogram Coir Mat by Evergreen Enterprises ($19.97 and up, homedepot.com).
Plaques: Ballard Design's oversized and elegant doorway plaques include the Palais Plaque, a wrought iron piece with an acanthus leaf motif. The monogram, in antique gold, is placed in the center of the plaque's fleur-de-lis crest ($199, ballarddesigns.com). The plate on Pottery Barn's Ella hammered brass knocker can be monogrammed for a personal touch ($59, plus $9 for monogramming, potterybarn.com). The knocker has a vintage pewter or antique bronze finish.
Garden flags: Put a stake in your property with a garden flag bearing your initials. The flags can be a small or large display along walkways or near a front door. Options include the Studio M garden flags, which are 12.5 inches wide by 18 inches long ($12.99, flagsonastick.com). On Etsy.com, handmade monogrammed garden flags incorporate materials like burlap and designs such as sports teams (from $25 at Where'd You Get That Flag, etsy.com/shop/Wheredyougetthatflag).
