Funny video outtakes
sought for new show

Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasters are seeking funny outtake videos of weddings, religious services, holidays, musical performances and practical jokes for a new program, “Holy Moly!” It's scheduled to begin airing in August. Go to www.aibtv.com for information.

Evening of Torah study,
Shavuot services set

A celebration of Torah study and Shavuot services will be held from 8:30 p.m. to midnight May 18 at Congregation Etz Chaim, 1190 Indian Hills Parkway N.E., Marietta, with Rabbis Judi Beiner, Paul Kerbel and Shalom Lewis and educators Judith Swartz and Miriam Rosenbaum. Topics include teachings from the Book of Ruth, a family tour of Israel and four study sessions on the Ten Commandments. Youth initiative
gets $1 million grant

Emory’s Candler School of Theology received a $1 million sustainability grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. for its Youth Theological Initiative. YTI is focused on theologically grounded, socially conscious ministries with youths and young adults. A key part of the initiative is the YTI Summer Academy, an intensive, residential program of justice-seeking theological education for rising high school juniors and seniors. Children can receive
free meals at centers

The group Children’s Outreach Center Inc. will distribute free breakfast and lunch for children eligible for free and reduced-fee meals during the regular school year at the Rosel Fann Recreation Center, 365 Cleveland Ave., Atlanta, and at the Adams Park Recreation Center, 1620 Delowe Drive in Atlanta. Children need to be enrolled at either of the recreation centers' programs to receive the meals. Program's focus:
‘Light' for at-risk

Judith Barnes will give a program called “Let There Be Light,” directed at families whose sons or brothers are at risk for gangs or drug abuse, at 7 p.m. May 21 at Atlanta Deliverance Tabernacle, 3163 Corley St., Covington. For information, call Barnes at 678-342-2360.

Bowl-a-Thon
to aid volunteers

The first Lutheran Volunteer Corps Am-Am Bowl-a-Thon will be at 6:30 p.m. May 21, at Suburban Lanes, 2619 N. Decatur Road, Decatur. Pledges will help support LVC volunteers.
