Atlanta Community Food Bank closes early Friday because of weather

The Atlanta Community Food Bank posted on Twitter that it will close at 2 p.m. Friday because of inclement weather.

“We hope everyone stays safe and warm!”

The nonprofit that provides food for 600 organizations in 29 counties. Partner agencies and volunteers are asked to check the food bank's website for updates.

Some schools and government offices are closing early as well because of forecasts predicting freezing weather.

Gov. Nathan Deal has declared a state of emergency in North Georgia.
