What’s old is new again. If you need proof, look no further than the pop-up drive-in movie theaters all across metro Atlanta this summer. The social-distanced approved activity has taken hold amid the ongoing global pandemic.
From the parking lot at Atlanta’s Plaza Theatre to Starlight Drive-In, there are plenty of options to take in a movie under the stars, including one in Cobb County.
The Cobb County Parks Department is showing movies for free this summer, you just need to register online in advance.
“Pack your car with your favorite movie snacks and drinks (no alcohol allowed). Gather your outdoor chairs and blankets and join the Cobb County PARKS Department for an outdoor movie experience,” according to the department’s website.
The park opens at 6:30 p.m. with trivia happening from a safe distance before the movie starts. The movie will begin around 7:30 p.m.
For the next couple weeks, the free movie will be “Aladdin.” On July 17-18, the screenings will be held at Lost Mountain Park. On July 24-25, it will take place at the Cobb County Civic Center.
