When McDonough defense attorney Jordan K. Van Matre and his family appeared on “Family Feud” he didn’t just chat with host Steve Harvey – he took off his jacket and got busy! The video of him dancing (scroll down) is hilarious but the story behind the performance is heartwarming.
The family taped the show last July and will appear the next several nights, so we can’t reveal any spoilers. But this story has a very happy ending.

It was around Christmas 2014 that Jordan and his wife, Whitney, started talking about adopting a baby. Knowing the process would be long and probably expensive, they started brainstorming ways to raise money. Jordan’s brother suggested trying out for “Family Feud,” since it’s filmed here in Atlanta.
The family excitedly sent in a submission tape but as luck would have it, Jordan and Whitney were matched with a newborn through a private adoption process. Little Kennedy, now 9 months old, joined them before the game show even taped.
But since they’d been chosen, the fun-loving family moved forward.
“Once we watched the other teams we realized we have to come to this with some energy and enthusiasm,” Jordan said. He arranged his little dance number with the producers but Harvey was unaware of what he had planned. You can see his delighted reaction in the clip below.
At the beginning of their introductions, Harvey asks Jordan his profession. Answer: defense lawyer.
“I’m going to give a quick shout out to all my clients who are watching in jail .. I’ll see y’all Monday in court,” Jordan quipped.
The dancing starts a moment later and the laughs never stop.
“The whole ‘Family Feud’ thing was a good experience,” the proud dad said. “We walked away with a lot of happy memories.”
