It's new to them, and it's a bit of reminiscing for the parents.
Netflix has discovered than a majority of dads have either introduced their kids to cartoons they grew up with or plan to show them the classics.
CNN Money is reporting that three quarters of those questioned said that watching the cartoons that they grew up with makes them feel like a kid again.
About the same amount said the shows also teach valuable life lessons.
So what shows resonate with dads and their kids? "Inspector Gadget," "Scooby Doo," "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and "The Smurfs" are among the classics that are being shared across generations.
Dads are using new technology to show the old-school shows to their kids. The survey said two-thirds of respondents use online streaming like Netflix to watch the shows.
And companies are taking notice, rebooting or resurrecting old shows for a new audience.
A new version of "The Muppet Show" is already on the fall TV schedule, and CNN Money reports that a new "DuckTales" is in development for The Disney Channel.
