Bay Area rapper Dominic Newton, aka 'The Jacka,' was shot and killed late Monday in Oakland, California, according to San Francisco's KPIX-TV.
Witnesses said several shots were fired about 8:15 p.m. Monday in East Oakland, police said. Police have not identified any suspects, KPIX-TV said.
According to All Music Guide, Newton, 37, started out with the group Mob Figaz and then went solo in 2001.
