Katy Perry has gone from "Roar" to "Rise."

The songstress surprised fans Thursday night with her latest single "Rise"

"This is a song that's been brewing inside me for years, that has finally come to the surface," Perry said in a release. "I was inspired to finish it now, rather than save it for my next album, because now more than ever, there is a need for our world to unite."

"Rise" has been chosen by NBC Olympics as the anthem before and during the upcoming games.

Opening ceremonies for the Rio Olympics will air Friday, Aug. 5, on NBC.

You can listen to "Rise" on iTunes and Apple Music.
