Gunnar Hansen, who played the iconic horror movie villain Leatherface in “Texas Chain Saw Massacre” has died.

His agent reported that the actor died at his home in Maine from pancreatic cancer. He was 68.

Hansen played the chain saw-wielding killer in the original 1974 film, which became a cult classic and spawned several sequels and remakes.

Hansen was from Iceland and came to the U.S. to attend school at the University of Texas. He was working on a thriller film at the time of his death.

He is survived by his partner of 13 years, Betty Tower.

Fans took to social media to pay their respects.
