Lil Nas X reflects on pneumonia hospitalization last year: ‘What a time’

The Lithia Springs native’s hospital selfie also serves as his Twitter profile picture

Lil Nas X seems to be reflecting on the difference a year makes.

The rapper on Wednesday tweeted a selfie he snapped on March 25, 2019. It wasn’t exactly a happy occasion, however.

“took this picture in the hospital with pneumonia a year ago today.. ahhh what a time,” the “Rodeo” performer wrote.

The accompanying photo shows the Lithia Springs native gazing at the camera as he wore a hat on the side of his head.

It’s not clear what Lil Nas X, whose legal name is Montero Lamar Hill, meant by “ahhh what a time,” but a few fans poured out with concern.

One Twitter user asked if the rapper were OK, which lead to a seemingly sarcastic response from Hill.

“no i passed away sadly,” he said.

Ten minutes after his initial tweet, Hill assured fans that he’s fine.

“i’m still here guys,” he said.

Still here and remaining at home.

Like many amid the coronavirus pandemic, Hill has been keeping a low profile as experts have encouraged social distancing.

Hill's performance at Miley Cyrus' Australian bushfire relief concert earlier this month was canceled amid concerns about the novel virus, which causes the disease COVID-19. However, he recently did his part to help fans who may similarly be unable to work as social distancing continues.

"hey guys drop ur cashapp. gonna send some of u some money to go get some food then stay inside," he tweeted March 12.

The tweet received more than 130,000 replies and came days after Hill asked if there were anything he could do to "help with the coronavirus situation."
