Jamie Laval’s Scottish Solstice Holiday Celebration at Eddie Owen Presents at Red Clay Theatre

Red Clay Theatre skips across the pond for this unique evening. Jamie Laval, an award-winning violinist and storyteller, will give the audience a taste of what the holiday season feels like in the Scottish Highlands. He leads the charge with an evening of music, dance and tales from the British Isles that draws inspiration from the old-school Celtic revelry that took place during Winter Solstice and Christmas. Laval brings with him a troupe of Celtic-inspired performers. This includes bagpiper E.J. Jones and Irish-style baritone David Brown. The latter also handles guitar and banjo duties. Rosalind Buda chimes in on bassoon, Scottish smallpipes and the bombarde, an ancient wind instrument. Kilts are optional.

8 p.m. Dec. 29. $20 advance; $25 at the door; $15 students with valid ID. Red Clay Theatre, 3116 Main St., Duluth. 404-478-2749, www.eddieowenpresents.com.
