Brews for Mews
There’s Good Mews, everyone! A fundraiser for the Good Mews Animals Foundation will take over the Red Hare Brewery in Marietta Saturday, with proceeds to benefit the organization’s local no-kill shelter for homeless, abandoned and abused cats. Red Hare will provide a wide selection of local brews, and food trucks will be on hand with a range of noshes. Raffles, games, brewery tours and music from Atlanta Boogie are also part of the purposeful fun.

DUNWOODY
Buzzard Mountain Boys concert
If you’re ready for a night of Southern fun under the stars, the newly restored meadow at the Dunwoody Nature Center is the place to be Saturday night. Grab a blanket or lawn chair and pack a picnic to enjoy while the Buzzard Mountain Boys perform as part of the park’s summer music series. The Boys — brothers Joe Bob and Jim Bob — hail from the North Georgia mountains, where they learned to play music in between working shifts at their father’s liquid corn extraction facility. They fill their shows with corny humor and lots of classic bluegrass. Moondog Growlers will be in the park with selections of craft beers to enjoy during the concert.

BBQ & Blues
Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails kicks off its BBQ & Blues series Sunday in the heart of the historic Crabapple district. While enjoying the sounds of classic blues, you can dig into the restaurant’s barbecue menu along with craft beer selections or cocktails. Once you’ve finished eating, try your hand at cornhole (the bean-bag toss game) on the lawn. Seats are apt to fill up quickly, so reservations are encouraged. The series continues July 27, Aug. 24 and Sept. 28.
