Antico Pizza Avalon
Antico Pizza Napoletana is now open at Avalon in Alpharetta, offering a menu of signature wood-fired pies, such as the San Gennaro and the Diavola, for dine in or takeout. Cherry Street Taproom
Cherry Street Brewing Cooperative in Cumming has expanded, adding brewery space for increased production and barrel aging, and the new Cherry Street Taproom, with a bar and tasting room. The grand opening celebration is scheduled from noon to midnight on Feb. 7, with 25 of the brewery's beers on draft and live music. Illegal Food seeks funds
The former pop-up in the kitchen at Joystick Gamebar, Illegal Food was scheduled to open its first full-service restaurant in early December in the Virginia-Highland space recently occupied by Bar Meatball. But after the owners got the keys to the space in September, the renovation required more time and money than expected. Now, Illegal Food owner Steven Lingenfelter wants fans to help with funding and earn rewards, from T-shirts to a dinner for 100. illegalfoodatlanta.com.
Chef Randy Lewis out
Randy Lewis, the executive chef responsible for the kitchen concepts and menus at recently opened Gypsy Kitchen and the Southern Gentleman at Buckhead Atlanta, is out. Southern Proper Hospitality, the team behind the two restaurants, as well as Tin Lizzy's, Big Ketch and Milton's, confirmed Lewis' departure in a statement: "Randy Lewis is no longer affiliated with Southern Proper Hospitality.
