The Farrelly brothers' remake of "The Three Stooges" has been filming at the sprawling Buckhead estate last occupied by the guy known to "Real Housewives of Atlanta" fans as "Big Poppa." The film, to star Will Sasso, Chris Diamantopoulos, Sean Hayes, Jane Lynch and Larry David, set up shop at the blinged-out mansion last week. The home is on West Paces Ferry Road, across the street from the historic property known as "The Pink Palace" and not far from the Governor's Mansion. Developer Lee Najjar, known to RHOA fans as the swashbuckling "Big Poppa," put the home on the market for $25 million a couple of years ago. The nine-bedroom home -- with 11 bathrooms and four half-baths and amenities , including multiple kitchens and gyms, a ballroom, recording studio, hair/nail salon, cigar room, theater and pool -- has since been reduced to the firesale price of $19.9 million. Overscene
Billy Bob Thornton dropped by the set of the aforementioned "Three Stooges" movie last week to check things out. He's here working on a movie of his own, called "Jayne Mansfield's Car." That film will star Thornton, along with Robert Duvall, John Hurt, Dennis Quaid, Pierce Brosnan and Dwight Yoakam. Things get cranking on that project soon. One more tidbit: Thornton was spotted at Chastain Park last week, sitting up front during the Monkees concert.
‘American Pie' cast spotted around town
The latest "American Pie" flick, to be called "American Reunion," has joined the ever-growing list of made-in-Georgia movies. Accordingly we're getting tips on where cast members are popping up. Eugene Levy stopped by the Buckhead Diner on Saturday and posed for a nice photo with general manager Maureen Baker. Meanwhile, on the same night Chris Klein dined at Two Urban Licks. And sweet Jennifer Coolidge tweeted us, "what a great city!" in response to our "welcome-to-Atlanta" message the other day. We invited her over to teach the AJC staff the "bend-and-snap" move that she and Reese Witherspoon made famous in "Legally Blonde." We'll let you know if that comes together.
