NORCROSS
“Sister Sex” at Norcross Cultural Arts and Community Center
Pat McGeever won Lionheart Theatre Company’s 2011 Make the Lion Roar playwriting contest and his play is coming to life. Theatergoers have one more weekend to catch “Sister Sex.” Jason Caldwell directs this comedy about a nun who moonlights as a sex therapist. After losing her husband, Maria (Suzi Linden) decides to slip on a habit and become a nun, while simultaneously counseling folks with sexual relationship issues. Soon she finds a cross-dresser (Alan Gilmer) and a mobster (Lee Finocchio) among her motley crew of clientele. Sister Maria juggles all of this with help from her receptionist, the comedic Sister Mo (Karen Ruetz). The Lionheart staff suggests making ticket reservations over the phone. Tickets can be purchased online with an added $1 service charge.
7:30 p.m. May 18-19; 2 p.m. May 20. $15; $12 for students and seniors. Norcross Cultural Arts and Community Center, 10 College St., Norcross, 678-938-8518, www.lionhearttheatre.org.
