ROSWELL
Laurence Juber at Unitarian Universalist Metro Atlanta North
The Six String Social Club’s concert series keeps on picking, this time with Grammy-winning guitarist Laurence Juber. Perhaps best known for his tenure as lead guitarist in the third incarnation of Paul McCartney & Wings, the finger-style ax man unites folk, jazz and pop into one big flurry of dizzy digits. Although Juber’s work pops up in everything from feature films to video games, this performance focuses on just him and his acoustic guitar. Hopefully Juber revisits his acclaimed version of “Stand by Me” from his “Pop Goes Guitar” disc. His association with the cute Beatle will likely inspire him to dip into material from some of his instrumental albums of Beatles music. Juber shares his mastery with a guitar workshop earlier in the day at 3 p.m. Workshop admission is $50 or guests can purchase a workshop and performance combo ticket for $75.
8 p.m. April 21. $20-$35. Unitarian Universalist Metro Atlanta North, 11420 Crabapple Road, Roswell. 770-365-7738, www.sixstringsocialclub.com.

ALPHARETTA

F.S.A. International Heritage Festival at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park

Get a crash course in world cultures without traveling the globe or even visiting Epcot. North Fulton’s F.S.A. charter schools host this annual event. It’s a celebration of more than 40 countries from Albania to Turkey. Food, music, dance and more help educate visitors. Peruse the retail vendors, nosh on international grub and have your event passport stamped when you visit each country’s booth. A kids’ play area will offer face painting and other activities for the younger set. It should be a virtual melting pot as organizers expect approximately 10,000 guests.

11 a.m.-5 p.m. April 21. $5 advance; $8 at the gate. Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park, 2200 Encore Parkway, Alpharetta. 770-753-4141, www.fsafest.org.

In addition to the live animal encounters, guests experience educational demonstrations, guided nature hikes, games and other creature-centric activities. Although Wild Weekend typically takes place later in the season, they’re having it early this year to coincide with Earth Day weekend.

6-9 p.m. April 20; 11 a.m.-2 p.m. April 21. $5-$7 or $20-$25 per carload. Autrey Mill Nature Preserve & Heritage Center, 9770 Autrey Mill Road, Johns Creek. 678-366-3511, www.autreymill.org.
