“The Dixie Swim Club” at Cumming Playhouse

Gypsy Theatre Company dives headfirst into this Southern-fried stage dramedy. Although their college swim team days have evaporated into the past, a group of five women reunite each August to reboot their friendships. The backdrop is North Carolina’s Outer Banks, where the ladies share life’s hurdles, from men and marriage to parenting and aging. Fans of chick flick fare such as “Steel Magnolias” may appreciate this show. The play’s authors, Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, make a special appearance on Feb. 10.

Heirloom’s Lawrenceville Rubber Stamp & Paper Arts Festival at Gwinnett County Fairgrounds

Those with a penchant for paper-related crafts can soak up the hobby in abundance. Rubber stamping, scrap and memory booking, card making, book arts and calligraphy converge. Free demonstrations showcase a variety of techniques. Exhibitors will show off their products including paper, stamps and more. Hungry crafters can partake in food service, and parking is free. Pay classes take place the day before the festival begins, schooling guests in ways to make the most of their respective craft. Registration for these classes can be done online.

Georges Feydeau’s classic farce “Tailleur Pour Dames” provides the inspiration for playwright Charles Morey’s comedy of errors. A doctor’s lie leads to a domino effect of trouble. A wife’s suspicions, a cantankerous mother-in-law, a female patient and her jealous hubby help shake things up. Susan Reid directs a cast featuring award-winning local thespians Andrew Benator, Veronika Duerr and Chris Kayser.
