Fox claims Paris Hilton message set off Rihanna

Fox News is reporting that early Sunday morning's Chris Brown-Rihanna altercation may have been caused by a text message sent by Paris Hilton.

Fox claims that Hilton met Brown at a Hollywood party Friday night for hip-hop producer Timbaland. Brown's girlfriend Rihanna also attended the party and performed for half an hour. The report claims that Brown and Hilton chatted and may have been photographed while exchanging phone numbers.

On Saturday night, Brown and Rihanna attended and performed at another Grammy pre-awards party thrown by hip-hop mogul Clive Davis. It was after this party, early Sunday morning, that the fight occurred and a call to the police was made.

Fox says that its sources identify the cause of the fight to be a text message or phone call from Hilton to Brown around the time Brown was driving or leaving the party. Fox cautions that Hilton's intentions with the message were not clear.

In related news, the New York Post reports that Chris Brown has changed his personal Facebook relationship status to "Single."
