More than two hearts were broken when Atlanta's former Bachelorette Andi Dorfman and her fiance Josh Murray parted ways.

Atlanta fans mourned the breakup of the hometown couple, who met and got engaged on The Bachelorette season 10. They made a fine-looking pair around town and all looked well, but nine months after their on-air engagement, they broke up.

In the early days, both Dorfman and Murray were diplomatic when talking about what happened. But earlier this month, Dorfman (who has since relocated to New York) was in town promoting her tell-all book, "It's Not Okay" in which she suggests that Murray was emotionally abusive, jealous and had a wretched temper.

Murray -- who currently stars on the E! reality show Famously Single -- stuck with written statements when the book was first released.

This week, he has since been speaking out a bit more about Dorfman's version of events while doing promotional interviews for his new show which premiered June 14.

His criticism of Dorfman is fairly subtle and he hasn't outright denied any of Dorfman's specific claims, which she has said were culled from journal entries during their time together.

But in an interview with the AJC's Rodney Ho, Murray called Dorfman's book a work of fiction . "How am I supposed to comment on a fictional story?" Murray said in the interview.

Murray, who now lives in Smynings told Ho he hasn't read the book and wasn't going to discuss it in the interview.

On Wednesday, he told Glamour magazine , he was praying for Dorfman's happiness and peace and he hoped she would be able to eventually move on.

Then he told the tabloid magazine, In Touch Weekly , that he thinks the whole situation -- or perhaps, Dorfman herself -- is sad.

“I think it’s sad when someone has a platform to help people and they use it to exploit something and tell fictional stories to hurt somebody else. But unfortunately, drama sells," he said.

Murray said he isn't worried about any backlash from the book because his friends and family know who he really is as a person.
