Supermodel Cindy Crawford is making a comeback, but this time as an emoji.

The 50-year-old supermodel partnered with Pepsi to bring back her iconic 1992 commercial featuring an emoji version of her face on a Pepsi bottle in place of her actual face and body in those well-known denim cutoffs.

"The original spot was so great -- people come up to me to this day and say they loved that spot," Crawford told CNN . "I think there's so much nostalgia for the commercial, so we decided to do it with a twist as a Pepsi emoji. It's fun to connect with a younger audience."

And here's the original in case you have forgotten:

Crawford's relationship with the Pepsi brand has been ongoing. She teamed up with PepsiCo in 2011 as the face of Propel Zero. The campaign marked her return to modeling after an 11-year absence. In her retired years, Crawford, a mom of two children who are also models, kept busy by releasing a skincare system and a line of furniture.

She is the latest of the supermodels from the 1990s experiencing a wave of fashion nostalgia and being asked to recreate a role they originated in an advertising campaign.

Of course, we're talking about the original supermodels -- Linda, Christy, Naomi, Stephanie, Claudia, Elle (and baby Kate Moss) -- who changed the modeling game in the 1980s and 1990s commanding high salaries and earning worldwide recognition.

Earlier this year, models Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss marked 20 years of fighting breast cancer by each recreating their 1996 photo shoots for Fashion Targets Breast Cancer.

In 2014, Christy Turlington recreated her role in Calvin Klein Eternity ads. Instead of partnering with model Mark Vanderloo, her co-star in the original 1989 ad, Turlington posed for the steamy photo shoot with her hubby, filmmaker Ed Burns.

Claudia Schiffer, who appeared in advertisements for Guess jeans from 1989 - 1991, returned to the brand in 2012 as the face of their 30th anniversary campaign.

And fans of Elle McPherson -- the supermodel who earned the nickname, "The Body" -- could spot her on the cover of Harper's Bazaar (Australia) in 2013 recreating a pose that originally appeared on the cover of Playboy in 1994.
