Atlanta-based Alternative apparel has partnered with ArtsATL and Fallen Arrows to create a locally driven collection of limited-edition t-shirts.

Every month, on the last Tuesday of the month, Alternative will release a t-shirt with a new design from a local artist found through ArtsATL. The designs will then be printed by Fallen Arrows on an Alternative tee.

The first t-shirt, released this week, features Atlanta and Shanghai-based artist Caomin Xie.

Xie's work has been exhibited around the world as well as collected locally by the High Museum of Art and The Museum of Contemporary Art Georgia.

Xie's Mandala paintings consists of designs that present "an introspection of modern technological advancement under the concept of Buddhism." The design is printed on an Alternative Basic Crew, a 100 percent cotton unisex tee.

Other artists designing for the collection include Andrew Catanese, Ann-Marie Manker, Eric Mack, Esteban Patiño, Young Chun, Jaeyoun Shin, Krista Clark, Laura Vela, Sarah Emerson, Scott Ingram and Fahamu Pecou.

The t-shirts in the A.Tee.L. collection cost $32.
