Dale Wentworth, with his daughter ousted last week, has to scramble big time to survive. So he creates a fake Idol and hopes to barter it and ensure his survival.

He tries to buddy up to Jon Misch. It is a valiant effort but it failed. He is cut as Jon stuck with the larger group. Dale  couldn't play his idol because it's a fake and the team had a back up anyway: Keith Nale. There is no blind side or surprise of any sort this week during tribal council. All went as planned.

The weak Coyopa tribe, which has lost almost all the challenges even after shifting team members last week, is now just awaiting the merge, the sooner the better. (The trailer for next week reveals the merge does indeed happen very very soon.)

In the meantime, we are tracking our remaining Atlantan, John Rocker's girlfriend Julie McGee. She hasn't had much airtime since her team keeps winning so she has been pretty safe.

And for the first time, she has a real story line, though it is a minor one.

Despite winning last week, Hunahpu still has a rice shortage issue from consuming way too much in the early days. McGee says she isn't looking forward to the punishment a bag of rice was going to involve.

For only the second time in Jeff Probst's memory can he recall a team having trouble with lack of rice. "There has never been a tribe in history of 'Survivor' who needed as much help as you guys have," Probst says.

He reminds them how they had lost their flint and had to trade in fishing gear, which might have mitigated the rice issue, to get a new one. He also notes that they may have been able to win the challenges because they have eaten so much.

The trade off is comfort: he wants their tarp, their pillows, their bed rolls, the hatchet, the hammer and one of the pots, plus the extra flint. "You are starting over," he says.

Julie is especially worried about losing the trap. "Being cold is really going to test me," says the Southern girl.

When it does rain, she is especially miserable. "I can't handle another night like that," she says. She later opines, "It was the hardest night of my life."

Jeremy is annoyed the team gave up their comfort for food , especially after they won the reward challenge: barbecue! He clearly wants to play the game and their success has ultimately minimized his need to be Machiavellian.
