The Hollywood Reporter gave CNN love with a big cover story with the title "CNN's New War."

On it, CNN president Jeff Zucker is surrounded by Jake Tapper (top left), YouTube star and CNN hire Casey Neistat (bottom left), host W. Kamau Bell (second from right), and chef-turned-host Anthony Bourdain (far right).

Josiah Daniel Ryan, a CNN producer, retweeted the cover with the caption 'the future of media looks like this," which led to social media critics noting the lack of female representation on the cover and in the story.

Celeste Headlee, host of WABE's 9 a.m. news/talk show "On Second Thought," wrote, "The future of media is 100% straight men and 4/5 white? Nope. Nopeity Nope."

All top executives at CNN are men. None of CNN's most prominent on-air women were mentioned including afternoon host and Westminster grad Brooke Baldwin, morning host Alison Camerota, late morning host Kate Boulduan and evening host Erin Burnett. Plus, Lisa Ling is one of the hosts of one of its original programs and one of its most respected correspondents is Christiane Amanpour.
