UGA grad and former Atlantan Parvati Shallow in last week's episode lost her closest ally and is in serious danger of not winning "Survivor" for a second time.
So far, she has spent more than 108 days competing on "Survivor" in three rounds, the most in the show's ten-year history, just beating Amanda Kimmel ("China," "Micronesia"), eliminated two weeks ago.
Shallow ("Micronesia," "Cook Islands") has made it into the homestretch of "Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains" despite the fact she had already won the competition and pocketed $1 million before. (The only other remaining winner among the top 6 is the wily, below-the-radar Sandra Diaz-Twine, who won "Pearl Islands" and hasn't been the target of a single vote yet during Tribal Council.)
Who would you like to see win "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains"?
- Sandra Diaz-Twine (Pearl Islands)
- Parvati Shallow (Cook Islands, Micronesia)
- Rupert Boneham (Pearl Islands, All Stars)
- Colby Donaldson (Australian Outback, All Stars)
- Russell Hantz (Samoa)
- Jerri Manthey (Australian Outback, All Stars)
She uses a four-pronged approach to staying in the game: charm, smarts, athleticism and good looks. She can also win endurance challenges when need be.
Parvati, as part of the villains crew, joined an alliance early with conniving Russell Hantz ("Samoa") and low-key Danielle DiLorenzo ("Panama"). Russell outmaneuvered likable Boston Rob Mariano ("Marquesas," "All Stars") by using Tyson Apostol ("Tocantins"). Russell convinced Tyson tovote for Parvati while he voted for Tyson, then gave Parvati his immunity idol to ensure her survival and Tyson's departure. That's serious "Survivor" game play!
Right before the merge, Hero J.T. Taylor ("Tocantins") tried to "align" with Russell, thinking he was on the outs with the Villain women, sending him a note and an extra immunity idol, requesting Russell get rid of Parvati.
Of course, Russell did not get rid of Parvati. Russell, instead, gave an immunity idol to Parvati. When Parvati found a second immunity idol, she told Danielle but not Russell. During that episode's Tribal Council. Parvati gave both immunity idols away to Villains Jerri Manthey ("Australian Outback," "All Stars") and Sandra, insuring J.T.'s departure. Russell, not knowing about the extra idol, realized he was not in total control.
Who do you think will actually win "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains"?
- Colby Donaldson (Australian Outback, All Stars)
- Sandra Diaz-Twine (Pearl Islands)
- Rupert Boneham (Pearl Islands, All Stars)
- Russell Hantz (Samoa)
- Parvati Shallow (Cook Islands, Micronesia)
- Jerri Manthey (Australian Outback, All Stars)
In the next episode, Russell convinced one of the heroes Candice Woodstock ("Cook Islands") to get rid of fellow hero Amanda. Although Parvati was a target, Candice's vote ensured Amanda's departure. During last week's episode, which featured two eliminations, Parvati won immunity and helped get rid of Candice.
Russell tried to split Danielle and Parvati by telling each that they were targeting the other, a lie. Both sussed out his lie and he was exposed. But during the Tribal Council, Danielle fell apart emotionally and accidentally told fellow Villain Jerri that she was not part of their planned final three. Oops. Jerri sided with fan favorite Rupert Boneham ("Pearl Islands," "All Stars") , surprisingly ineffectual Colby Donaldson ("The Australian Outback," "All Stars") and Russell to get rid of Danielle.
So the final six include two Heroes: Rupert and Colby. Both remain vulnerable to the end and neither has been particularly good in immunity challenges. However, Sandra is a wild card. She is not truly loyal to Parvati or Russell. She even pondered siding with the heroes at one point. She could team up with Colby and Rupert and get rid of Parvati and Russell if Jerri plays along. Jerri is a wild card as well because she now knows Parvati and Russell were not supporting her. That alliance is broken.
Russell has been such a disruptive, snake-like force (like in Samoa), he could potentially make the top two because he’d lose to anybody who makes the top two with him. Like Samoa, I bet a lot of folks won’t vote for him even if he deserved it on paper.
This means Parvati is in major trouble. Her closest friend Danielle is out and she and Russell are on the outs. I don’t know if she has any real strong ties with Sandra or Jerri. And why should Rupert and Colby keep her around? She is going to have to win some immunity challenges or find another immunity idol to survive. (Sandra has the immunity idol and nobody knows it. Will she need it at some point? Probably.)
