I attended an "American Idol" taping tonight for their "showcase" round, which won't air until late January and missed "The Voice" results show. I was able to find out what happened. And it wasn't a complete shock.

Marietta's Zach Seabaugh competed for his life on tonight's "The Voice" semifinal round but his "Live Like You Were Dying" failed to overcome Jeffery Austin, who landed the fourth and final slot for the finals.

Austin's "Make It Rain" blew away the crowd and not surprisingly, he landed the Twitter insta-save, beating both Seabaugh and Madi Davis, who also tried her luck with a song with a telling title "Don't Dream It's Over."

The final four will compete for the win next week.

Seabaugh was clearly in trouble facing off against the popular Austin and the fact two of the top three vote getters were already country artists: sweet Emily Ann Roberts and pro Barrett Baber.  The long-time favorite to win is the smooth Jordan Smith.
