No TV show shot in metro Atlanta was nominated in any major Emmy category. AMC's "The Walking Dead," one of the most popular shows in America, received nods in four minor categories.

Two actors with local ties made the cut: UGA grad Kyle Chandler for Netflix's "Bloodline" for best actor in a drama and former Athens resident Tituss Burgess for best supporting actor in a comedy for "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt."

"I was uncontrollable," Burgess told People upon hearing the news. "I sobbed, and I couldn't believe it, and I'm usually so brilliant at always having something to say."

Two AMC shows shot in Atlanta received nods in secondary categories.

AMC's "Halt & Catch Fire" is vying for Outstanding Main Title Design. (Yes, that's a thing!)

AMC's "The Walking Dead" is nominated for Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup, Outstanding Sound Editing for a series, Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Supporting Role and Outstanding Stunt Coordination.

Sundance's well-regarded "Rectify" and the CW's "Vampire Diaries" took home no Emmy nominations.

For the second year in a row, FX's "Archer," created in Atlanta, was nominated as outstanding animated program.

Turner's CNN received five nominations, Cartoon Network grabbed four and adult Swim got three nominations. TBS and TNT? Shut out.

Adult Swim's "Children's Hospital" (not shot here but in L.A.) was nominated for best short-form live entertainment program.

CNN's "The Sixties" was nominated for best documentary or nonfiction series.

CNN's "Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown" received a nomination for best informational series or special. He has won that category the past two years.

If I missed anything, please email me at rho@ajc.com and I'll add it. There are a lot of people nominated and some may be from here and I have no clue.

UPDATE: Tony Petty, a regular reader, pointed out that I missed NBC's now cancelled "Constantine," which was filmed in Atlanta. It was nominated for Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Contemporary Or Fantasy Program (One Hour Or More).

Members of "The Prancing Elites Project" on Oxygen are visiting the Tavern at East Point Saturday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 18.

The address is 3560 Camp Creek Pkwy, East Point.

The show, produced by Atlanta-based company Crazy Legs Productions, did well enough this past spring to gain a second season and will be expanded to a full hour from 30 minutes.

As Oxygen describes it, "the series delves into the personal and professional lives of an African American, gay and gender non-conforming dance troupe from Mobile, Alabama as they challenge societal norms with passion and wit."
