TV best bets with Natalee Holloway, Laci Peterson, 'Marvel's The Defenders' returns of 'Survivor's Remorse,' 'The Last Ship'

Crime stories are still the rage. A&E explores the 2002 murder of Laci Peterson Tuesday while Oxygen digs into the Natalee Holloway disappearance on Saturday.

On a lighter note, Marlon Wayans returns to sitcoms with "Marlon" Wednesday on NBC while two long-time series come back: "Project Runway" on Lifetime Thursday for season 16 and "Flipping Out" on Bravo reaches season 10. And Spike TV is airing the 1,000th episode of "Cops" Saturday.

Over the weekend, two shows shot in Atlanta are returning: the fourth and final season of AMC's "Halt and Catch Fire" Saturday and Starz' "Survivor's Remorse" on Sunday for a fourth season. Atlanta-based TNT is also bringing back the fourth season of "The Last Ship" Sunday while Showtime brings back "Episodes" for a fifth season the same night.

And the umpteenth Marvel series debuts on Netflix Friday called "The Defenders."

“People of Earth” 10:30 p.m. TBS — Gina distracts Agent Foster so that Ozzie can sneak away to meet Walsh.


“America’s Got Talent” 8 p.m. NBC — The first live show.

“Animal Kingdom” 8 p.m. TNT — Baz orchestrates his plan to take down Smurf as Marco cashes in a favor with Craig and Deran. Elsewhere, Pope seeks the truth behind a death.

“The Haves and the Have Nots” 9 p.m. OWN — Jim and David search for Warlock, who is being pursued by the Malones.

“Greenleaf” 10 p.m. OWN — Grace and Mac's showdown sends shockwaves through the family,

“Hollywood Game Night” 10 p.m. NBC — The celebrity players are Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley, Carson Kressley, Marcus Lemonis and Bill Engvall.

“Manhunt” 10 p.m. Discovery — The Unabomber will stop bombing if his Manifesto is published.

“Murder of Laci Peterson” 10 p.m. A&E (new series) — The initial disappearance of Laci Peterson is spotlighted.

“Shooter” 10 p.m. USA — Bob Lee works to piece together Solotov's motive for targeting their unit.

“Marvel's The Defenders” 3:01 a.m. Netflix (new series)   This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.

“Halt and Catch Fire” 9 tonight AMC (fourth season debut) — Gordon enjoys success, while Joe works to keep their web project afloat; Cameron extends a business trip.
