AMC's long anticipated spin-off of "The Walking Dead" finally arrives on Sunday, August 23.
Dubbed "Fear the Walking Dead," it features a family coping with the very beginning of the zombie apocalypse hitting Los Angeles.
Timing wise, "The Walking Dead" really began when Rick Grimes woke up from a coma at least three weeks after hell broke loose. And while the Georgia-based drama has been rural and suburban, the L.A. show is fully urban. Plus, now we know far more than the characters do about the nature of this mess.
If you want something lighter, on Saturday night, Lifetime offers its latest "unauthorized" movie about a popular 1990s show. A few months back, they tried "Saved By the Bell." Now, they are delving into the ABC series "Full House."
Among series finishing their seasons: TNT's "Proof" (Tuesday), A&E's "Duck Dynasty "(Wednesday), Spike's "Lip Sync Battle" (Thursday) and HBO's "Ballers" (Sunday).
And for Atlanta-based shows, "Survivor's Remorse" returns Saturday on Starz.
This covers Monday, August 17, 2015 through Sunday, August 23.
