No shortage of varied programming this week.
Conan O'Brien goes to Mexico, Gwen Stefani reappears on "The Voice," Chris Webber does pranks, Dick Wolf spins off another "Chicago" series and Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon play two classic actors from decades past for FX.
ABC is going for an ambitious four night mini-series chronicling a family over several decades of the progression of gay rights starring Guy Pierce and Mary Louise Parker called "When We Rise." (More details in this New York Times review.)
Donald Trump talks to Congress on Tuesday at 9 p.m.
And on Sunday, competing time machine series start on Fox and ABC respectively though they are completely different. Fox's version is more of the "Hot Tub Time Machine" or "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" ilk. The other is actually a serious riff off H.G. Wells novel "The Time Machine."

"The Bachelor" 8 p.m. ABC — Andi Dorfman surprises Nick just before he hands out roses to three of the four remaining bachelorettes.

"Africa's Great Civilizations" 9 p.m. GPB (news series) — Henry Louis Gates Jr. explores Africa's rich history in this limited series.
"Cold Case Files" 9 p.m. A&E (news series) — A young girl is kidnapped and killed on Halloween on her way home from a costume party.
"The Breaks" 9 p.m. VH1 — At the Ride 95 FM concert, Nikki is tasked with getting rapper D-Rome on stage with Keith Sweat to perform a guest verse.
"When We Rise" 9 p.m. ABC (miniseries debut) — The miniseries about a diverse family of LGBTQ people who helped pioneer the equality movement in the U.S. begins with the social-justice fighters moving to San Francisco after coming out or being outed.
"APB" 9:01 p.m. Fox — Armor-piercing bullets turn up on the black market.
"Bates Motel" 10 p.m. A&E — Norman's date goes awry.
"Chris Webber's Full Court Pranks" 10 p.m. TruTV (new series) — Famous athletes and sports celebrities play pranks on their most devoted fans.
"Tickled" 10 p.m. HBO — A reporter stumbles upon a bizarre secret society engaged in the production of "competitive endurance tickling" videos.
"Humans" 10 p.m. AMC — Athena's secret is revealed.
"Taken" 10 p.m. NBC (new series) — A prequel of the film series set in current day.
"Scorpion" 10 p.m. CBS — The team must save Happy's friend who lives in a sterile bubble after a severe storm leaves her surrounded by debris that could puncture the object and compromise her health.
TUESDAY
"Fresh Off the Boat" 8 p.m. ABC (special time) —Jessica accuses Eddie of taking her papaya; and a record store manager accuses him of stealing a CD.
"Donald Trump's Address to the Congress" 9 p.m. ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, GPB, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News — Trump makes his first prime-time speech as president.
"The Have and the Have Nots" 9 p.m. OWN — Oscar makes Candace an offer to blackmail the biggest mark she's ever had.
