"The Amazing Race" player Jeff Weldon was in trouble from day one on "Big Brother." Just the fact he was on some other reality show did not make him more sympathetic. And he struck many in the house as a schemer and liar. He got blindsided and tried hard to gain votes.

His efforts fizzled and he went home week three, losing 7 to 4 against James Huling, the other dude on the block.

James fundamentally is a likable dude. But that is also a potentially bad thing for people positioning themselves further down the road. Ultimately, his niceness prevailed over Jeff's skeevy nature.

The two metro Atlantans I'm tracking Audrey Middleton and Shelli Poole remained safe and both voted for Jeff.

Jeff tried to get Shelli's vote with a fake emotional jag but she didn't ultimately buy it.

Audrey, well aware she was now persona non grata among many of the players, laid low most of the week, just hoping to escape being put up for elimination. She has Vanessa Rousso, the poker player, to thank. As head of household, she really wanted James gone so she placed him on the block. Her cohort Austin Matelson, the wrestler, wanted Jeff gone.

Both were considered greater threats to win than Audrey.

So in a weird way, Audrey's poor game play week two may have saved her for now because nobody thinks she has a realistic shot of taking home the $500,000 in two months.

That doesn't mean some folks aren't annoyed by her. Jason Roy, in particular, wanted her out yesterday.

'This girl has more comebacks than Cher," said Jason, who is exaggerating a wee bit. Audrey's only been a target for the past two weeks.

After Jeff's elimination, Shelli won Head of Household for the second time, along with Liz, who keeps switching out with her twin Julia.
