Washington - President Donald Trump kept silent Saturday about the hundreds of thousands of protesters who marched in Washington, Atlanta and other cities across the nation to demonstrate against his administration.
But early Sunday, he took aim at the March on Washington and the other rallies, many of which featured prominent politicians and celebrities who supported Democrat Hillary Clinton.
He followed it up later with this more innocuous message:
Saturday’s women’s march in the nation’s capital — and the sister events it inspired in Atlanta and other cities across the country — felt like a very loud response to Friday’s inauguration.
Chicago’s march became a rally after the crowd swelled past 150,000, proving too huge for streets to accommodate. Millions of feet beat the pavement in Boston, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York and elsewhere.
And more than 60,000 people showed up to the Atlanta march, which featured a speech by Georgia Rep. John Lewis - still at the center of a roiling feud with Trump after he questioned the president's legitimacy and Trump responded with a string of insults aimed at him and his Atlanta-based district.
